Sam Allen is the owner of Sam Allen Interiors, an interior design firm located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Sam's style is clean and comfortable and has encompassed themes all the way from Organic Elegance to Parisian Hollywood glamour. His designs have been featured in numerous publications including Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Vogue Magazine, The New York Times, and Teen Vogue. At 18 years old, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens was the first to feature him and his fresh take on home decor. Other publications include athome Magazine, Martha's Vineyard Magazine, The Weston Forum, and The Westport News. A finalist in athome Magazine's A-List Awards, and chosen to be one of twelve designers to take part in Albert Hadley's "Rooms With A View," he was the youngest designer in both groups. Sam has also been featured on a number of regional and national television programs including CBS This Morning, The Rachael Ray Show, FOX Connecticut, and Better Connecticut. With mounting recognition, Sam is taking his love for design far and wide. Sam's passion for interior design began very early in his life. Having grown up the son of interior designer and magazine editor Leslie Allen, Sam was exposed to the creative world of photo shoots for national home and shelter magazines. His first design job came when he walked through the door of Westport's Dovecote and met owner Sarah Kaplan. At the time he was only 12 years old. Kaplan's mentorship included annual buying trips to Europe where he shopped the flea markets of Paris and the South of France. The rest is history. Between his early stint at Dovecote and the launch of Sam Allen Interiors, Sam became the youngest intern to ever work for Martha Stewart at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Martha Stewart Productions. By the time he was 17, he landed his first independent client and Sam Allen Interiors was born. Sam Allen is now 20 years old and boasts dozens of clients throughout the Northeast. |
